Legal Accountant (Personal Injury)

Location: Lima, Peru; preferred location is Latin America. Fully remote, with working hours from 9 AM–5 PM EST and U.S. federal holidays.

Salary: USD $1,000–$1,400 per month.

hirify.global connects professionals with agencies and startups worldwide; the client is a US-based personal injury law firm handling accident and injury claims from intake through settlement.

What you will do

• Manage files from settlement through final client disbursement.
• Prepare closing statements, settlement documents, wire templates, and payment records.
• Verify liens, payoffs, referral sources, case documentation, settlement checks, and client disbursement amounts.
• Send lien verification requests, track lien information, negotiate required liens, and complete lien resolution.
• Maintain bookkeeping records, review and process invoices, and resolve disputed charges.
• Reconcile bank and operating accounts and track staff expenses and reimbursements.

Requirements

• 1–3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial coordination experience.
• Strong understanding of financial records, reconciliations, invoices, payments, and disbursements.
• Advanced or strong Excel skills and comfort with cloud-based tools.
• Strong written English and professional communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, follow-up, and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work fully remotely during 9 AM–5 PM EST and observe U.S. federal holidays.

Nice to have

• Experience with legal settlements, liens, medical payoffs, or personal injury law firms.
• Experience with Claude or similar AI-assisted workflows.
