Lead Data Scientist (Service Events & Insights)

Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Required travel is up to 10% domestically and internationally. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year.

What you will do

• Lead advanced analytics and data science initiatives for the Service Events domain.
• Direct data acquisition, transformation, modeling, and query optimization across high-volume datasets.
• Define analytical problems, approaches, and success criteria with business stakeholders.
• Develop, deploy, and optimize machine learning models and statistical analyses for service outcomes, forecasting, and decision-making.
• Apply natural language processing, text analytics, predictive modeling, and data visualization to structured and unstructured service data.
• Guide data science best practices, experimentation, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Knowledge of machine learning, business statistics, programming, database access, and data management systems.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Deep expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, data processing frameworks, and productionizing analytical solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling, database systems, distributed datasets, and query optimization.
• Must work onsite five days a week in Peoria, Illinois, United States. US work sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree in business, engineering, data science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Service Events data, including dealer work orders, SMCS hierarchies, service response, fluid sampling, inspection, and Cat Interact.
• Experience leading end-to-end machine learning initiatives and monitoring model performance.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others in data science best practices.
