Staff Nurse (Oncology)

Location: 5 Branch St, Methuen, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $38.21–$80.50 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for oncology and hematology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, infusions, medications, blood transfusions, and supportive treatments according to clinical guidelines.
• Provide symptom management, telephone triage, patient and family education, and psychosocial support.
• Perform intravenous therapy, including peripheral and central vascular access, and handle hazardous cytotoxic and biological agents safely.
• Coordinate care with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, collaborating institutions, home care, hospice, and community resources.
• Document care and service charges, participate in quality initiatives, and provide charge nurse support when needed.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse licensure in Massachusetts or New Hampshire is required.
• AHA BLS certification is required; AHA ACLS is acceptable as a minimum requirement.
• Completion of an Oncology Nurse Residency Program or one year of recent Registered Nurse experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Strong critical thinking, independent decision-making, communication, collaboration, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work with complex patient needs and perform the physical requirements of patient care, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing; associate degree holders must complete a BSN within four years.
• Ambulatory or oncology nursing experience.
• IV therapy skills.
• Professional certification such as OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, or RN-BC.
