Technical Director, Pavement Technologies (Pavement & Dispersants)

Location: Based in Charleston, South Carolina, United States; travel up to 30% may be required.

What you will do

• Lead a global, multi-site technical organization covering innovation, product development, applications, technical service, pilot plant operations, and laboratories in Charleston, Tulsa, and Europe.
• Define technical strategy, workforce planning, portfolio priorities, project-management frameworks, governance, and resource allocation.
• Lead the product development lifecycle for pavement additives and AgChem dispersants from concept and business case through field validation, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Build an Open Innovation program through partnerships with customers, suppliers, universities, research institutions, start-ups, and other technology partners.
• Develop a 5- to 10-year technology roadmap focused on infrastructure, sustainability, decarbonization, recycled-content systems, renewable feedstocks, durability, and lifecycle substantiation.
• Manage technical leaders and teams, strengthen succession planning and capabilities, oversee the departmental budget, and represent the company with customers, agencies, associations, and conferences.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in chemistry or a related technical field required; PhD preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant industrial experience in innovation, product development, or applications technology.
• Demonstrated experience leading or materially advancing Open Innovation programs and external technical collaborations.
• Experience with workforce planning, portfolio management, technical resource allocation, process improvement, governance, and complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Proven ability to build high-performing teams, develop leaders, lead organizational change, and deliver technical results.
• Position based in Charleston, South Carolina, with up to 30% travel.
