Mechanical Engineer II (Fuel Cell Stack Engineering)

Location: Rochester, NY; work must be performed at hirify.global’s Rochester Innovation Center. Business travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Salary: $79,200–$118,800 per year.

What you will do

• Design fuel cell stack components from concept through detailed design, prototyping, and production release.
• Create and maintain large 3D CAD assembly models, part drawings, and bills of materials.
• Plan and conduct hands-on prototype builds, component characterization, and stack testing.
• Apply engineering analysis, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and DFMEA to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Resolve design, quality, and manufacturing issues in collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support engineering changes, design reviews, cost reduction, performance improvements, and new applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience designing and developing products from concept through production release.
• Strong experience with CAD modeling, engineering drawings, and component- and assembly-level bills of materials.
• Ability to manage complex projects, multitask, communicate effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work at hirify.global’s Rochester Innovation Center.
• Exempt salaried employees may need to work more than eight hours per day or 40 hours per week when required to complete responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Fuel cell stack or fuel cell systems design experience.
• Creo and Windchill experience.
• FEA, CFD, GD&T, DFMEA, rapid prototyping, DFA, and DFM experience.
• Experience with engineering change management, high-volume manufacturing, metal forming, welding, coatings, machining, and injection molding.
