TL;DR
Senior Medical Strategy Manager (Medical Affairs): Leading investigator-sponsored studies, strategic data-generation programs, and medical affairs initiatives for therapies addressing rare and life-threatening diseases with an accent on scientific strategy, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. Focus on designing studies, managing investigators and external vendors, synthesizing clinical data, and developing evidence and publications that support product strategy.

Location: RTP, North Carolina, United States; hybrid with at least three days per week in the office. Travel up to 35% is required.

What you will do

  • Oversee investigator-sponsored studies, including review, approval, documentation, tracking, investigator communication, and quarterly data reviews.
  • Design, execute, and manage small strategic and non-interventional studies led by Medical Affairs.
  • Provide operational oversight for external vendors and CROs supporting Medical Affairs studies.
  • Prepare and present tactics for Phase IV data generation and support products across launch planning and medicine development activities.
  • Develop materials for field teams and advisory boards, and provide medical and scientific review of promotional and training materials.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, CROs, and cross-functional teams on scientific publications and medical strategy.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD, or MD.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience in Medical Affairs, or a postdoctoral fellowship in Medical Affairs; alternative pharmaceutical experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated scientific, clinical, or pharmaceutical industry accomplishments with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong written and oral communication, team-building, project initiation, and project leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
  • Ability to work from the RTP, North Carolina office at least three days per week and travel up to 35%.
