Director, Canada Regional Controller (US GAAP/SOX)

Location: Burlington, Canada; hybrid work with in-person attendance at an assigned hirify.global office at least two days per week

Salary: $162,000–$190,000 annually, plus applicable variable compensation

What you will do

• Own the completeness and accuracy of the Canada region’s income statement and balance sheet under US GAAP.
• Oversee the regional SOX program, including the design and execution of key controls.
• Lead the regional controllership team and ensure compliance with group policies and reporting standards.
• Partner with global shared services and finance functions to maintain accurate reporting and appropriate service levels.
• Manage intercompany agreements, contract accounting reviews, revenue recognition, transfer pricing, and tax-related accounting considerations.
• Coordinate US GAAP and statutory audits, acquired-entity integrations, process improvements, and controllership talent development.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field.
• CPA or CA designation required.
• Extensive experience with US GAAP, SOX reporting requirements, financial statement analysis, and statutory accounting in a large multinational company.
• Experience leading a team and a controllership function, including collaboration with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Shared Services, and other business functions.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from Burlington, Canada, with at least two days per week in the assigned office.
