TL;DR
Senior Systems Architect (Airborne Systems): Architecting solutions for multi-function processors and stores management systems with an accent on embedded hardware/software, open systems standards, and multidisciplinary defense engineering. Focus on translating customer operational scenarios into product roadmaps, leading technical alignment across hardware, software, FPGA, and cybersecurity teams, and securing stakeholder buy-in.

Location: United States; fully remote/telework, fully onsite, or hybrid/flex options are available. Onsite work is based at the Bloomington, Minnesota facility. U.S. citizenship is required.

Salary: USD $157,487–$174,713 per year

What you will do

  • Architect solutions for multi-function processors and stores management systems supporting airborne systems.
  • Work with defense customers to solve complex operational and technical problems.
  • Support both business pursuits and program execution.
  • Translate customer needs and operational scenarios into product planning and technology roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and secure stakeholder alignment on proposed concepts and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering or a related science, engineering, or mathematics field with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing and developing embedded hardware and software solutions.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams spanning hardware, software, FPGA, and cybersecurity.
  • Knowledge of COTS modules for SBC, FPGA, graphics, waveforms, and switches.
  • Knowledge of open systems standards including SOSA, VPX, OMS, and avionics interfaces.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Nice to have

  • MBSE modeling experience or a commitment to learn.
  • Demonstrated success understanding customer operational scenarios and using them to architect solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influence-management skills with a record of securing buy-in.
