What you will do
- Lead project engineering, capital equipment, facilities, shutdown, and continuous improvement projects for multiple customers.
- Plan and coordinate plant relocations, expansions, project schedules, and shutdowns.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Design, Facilities, Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Management.
- Track project status, critical paths, changes, milestones, stage gates, requirements, approvals, inspections, safety, layouts, and bid solicitations.
- Identify delays and technical gaps, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate solutions across project phases.
- Support vendor selection and manage cost, timing, quality, equipment, and manufacturing improvement objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, or an equivalent degree.
- Experience as a project engineer leading teams of engineers and contractors, including capital projects with construction and facilities teams.
- Experience purchasing and justifying capital equipment, performing manufacturing cost calculations, and managing cost-reduction projects.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, collaborative, and problem-solving skills.
- Competence in engineering design and 3D CAD, with experience using Excel, FEA software, Minitab, Matlab, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with quality and statistical tools such as DFMEA and DOE, plus manufacturing processes, equipment fabrication, line layouts, and line balancing.
Nice to have
- Pharmaceutical or food manufacturing experience.
- Experience with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, or USDA requirements.
- Experience with clean rooms and food or pharmaceutical processing.
