Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; full-time hybrid from the San Francisco Financial District office, with remote candidacy also welcomed.

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship products and backend features quickly without compromising quality.
• Own major parts of the codebase and lead project planning, estimation, and delivery.
• Develop, release, and maintain backend services and infrastructure.
• Improve engineering processes, tools, systems, codebase scalability, and team productivity.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and analytics in a data-driven experimentation culture.
• Write clean, fully tested, high-performance code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend-focused software engineer.
• 3+ years using TypeScript, Node.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and AWS, or strong confidence in cross-training.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to independently take projects from idea through implementation and solve difficult, ambiguous problems.
• Interest in contributing across product design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborative approach and commitment to first-principles thinking.
