Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: 100% remote anywhere in the United States

What you will do

• Design and architect scalable, robust, and high-performance Node-based SaaS applications.
• Lead architecture and system design across components in an investment segment.
• Ensure solutions meet business, performance, scalability, and reliability objectives.
• Partner with Product Management and stakeholders to translate requirements into backlog items, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate technical decisions with architects and identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Mentor and guide engineers while supporting product planning and business performance.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of industry experience in data engineering and product management.
• Expert-level Node.js experience in backend application development and architecture.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business or technical field.
• Experience designing and developing data or software products.
• Expertise with databases, particularly Mongo Atlas, and REST APIs.
• Hands-on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, microservices, cloud-native technologies, Agile, and Scrum.
• Strong stakeholder communication, interpersonal, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, React, AWS, Azure, GCP, Redis, security, Datadog, Codefresh, and data ETL.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools, AI-powered code review agents, LLM APIs, and agentic workflows.
• Experience building agentic workflows, multi-step AI pipelines, prompt engineering, RAG, vector database integrations, and AI observability frameworks.
• Experience mentoring teams in AI tooling adoption and knowledge of responsible AI principles.
