Director of Product Management, Payments (Fintech)

Location: United States. Roles outside the Denver office can be based in AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, or Washington, D.C.

Salary: $220,000–$270,000 base salary, plus variable compensation and stock options.

What you will do

• Own the multi-year strategy and outcomes for the payment network supporting education funding.
• Lead, coach, and develop product managers across payment modalities and platform capabilities.
• Guide payment products from concept through vendor selection, pilots, launch, and scale.
• Manage relationships with processors, card networks, and money movement partners, including negotiations and roadmap alignment.
• Partner with Finance, Commercial, Legal, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations on pricing, business cases, governance, and risk.
• Improve the funding service’s speed, reliability, working capital efficiency, and cost per transaction.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management experience, including significant experience building payments products such as card issuing, virtual cards, money movement, or B2B payment flows.
• 5+ years of experience managing product managers and developing high-performing teams.
• Deep knowledge of card issuing, money movement, payment vendors, and payment economics; cross-border experience is beneficial.
• Experience setting and executing multi-year product strategies, building business cases, and scaling products from zero to launch.
• Experience sourcing, negotiating, and managing third-party vendor and network partnerships.
• Technical and AI fluency, including API design, integration architecture, build-versus-buy decisions, and practical use of AI in product development.
