What you will do

• Observe Master Teachers and co-teach with teacher-leaders to develop classroom instruction and management skills.
• Provide substitute teaching coverage and potentially teach classes or small groups of students.
• Deliver daily one-on-one and small-group tutoring, interventions, and student support.
• Plan lessons, implement curricula, design assessments, and use student data to refine instruction.
• Support grading, classroom activities, Enrichment classes, student events, transitions, and school-wide functions.
• Meet regularly with an instructional coach and participate in annual staff orientation and training.

Requirements

• Limited or no teaching experience is acceptable; the role is designed to provide training and hands-on classroom practice.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to support academic standards, student behavior, assessments, and classroom responsibilities.
• Commitment to working full-time in the Newark, New Jersey school setting.
