Technician II, Process R&D (Biotechnology)

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, USA; on-site position. Multiple shifts are available, including a weekend schedule from Friday through Monday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or a rotating Monday–Friday shift.

What you will do

• Conduct laboratory-scale fermentation experiments using microorganisms and bioreactor systems.
• Prepare seed cultures, media, reagents, and other materials for fermentation studies and process development.
• Operate, monitor, and control fermentation equipment through SCADA systems.
• Collect, process, and analyze samples using established laboratory and near-line analytical procedures.
• Maintain experimental records, clean and inspect equipment, and ensure bioreactor readiness.
• Identify operational issues, support troubleshooting and process improvement, and share information across projects and shift teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, biological engineering, or another physical science discipline; an associate degree with relevant laboratory, manufacturing, or biotechnology experience may also qualify.
• Experience following documented procedures and maintaining accurate laboratory records.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary projects and communicate effectively during shift-to-shift information transfer.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and work safely with required personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to work the stated weekend or rotating shift schedule and follow laboratory, environmental health, safety, and quality requirements.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of experience in microbiology, cell culture, fermentation, biotechnology, or related laboratory operations.
• Commercial brewing or other hands-on biological production experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency and familiarity with chemical handling, hazardous operations, or mechanical troubleshooting.
