Salary: $56,000–$80,000 per year

What you will do

• Teach an inclusive, culturally responsive Middle School English Language Arts curriculum.
• Guide students in analyzing literary and non-narrative texts, writing across genres, reading independently, and participating in student-led discourse.
• Create a safe classroom environment that supports students' authentic voices and social-emotional development.
• Analyze student work and assessment data with school leaders and instructional coaches.
• Differentiate instruction and collaborate with families and grade-level teams to support student learning.
• Participate in professional development, mentorship, coaching, and weekly school-wide meetings.

Requirements

• Academic expertise in Humanities, English, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required before employment begins.
• Must meet New Jersey state certification eligibility requirements, including the applicable minimum cumulative GPA.
• Must become certified in New Jersey within a reasonable period after starting employment.
• Commitment to supporting students' academic and social-emotional development.
• Interest in impacting K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
