What you will do

• Teach mathematics content including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus through curriculum aligned with AP and collegiate-level coursework.
• Help students solve problems, think critically, construct mathematical arguments, and become self-guided learners.
• Analyze student work samples and assessments with principals and instructional coaches.
• Differentiate instruction and establish academic and engagement goals with the Math department.
• Build positive relationships with students and families and support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
• Participate in grade-team collaboration, professional development, mentorship, coaching, and weekly school-wide meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university before starting employment.
• Academic expertise in Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to supporting K–12 students’ academic and social-emotional development.
• Interest in working with K–12 students in urban schools and communities; 1–2 years of experience is preferred.
• Certification is not required at hire, but candidates without an education degree must enroll in a teacher preparation program and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Teachers must meet New York State certification eligibility requirements and become certified in New York within a reasonable period after starting employment.

• Prior full-time teaching experience.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external partners and implementing feedback to improve outcomes.
