Manager, Voluntary Benefits Claims

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, USA. Travel of approximately 20% is required. Existing remote workers are eligible to apply.

Base salary: $75,500–$142,700 per year.

What you will do

• Lead teams responsible for claims management across multiple products, lines of business, and brands.
• Manage hiring, training, resource capacity, career development, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure accurate claim adjudication, file reviews, payment approvals, and compliance with plan provisions, procedures, and state regulations.
• Support strategic, transformational, growth, and digital transformation initiatives focused on customer experience and operational excellence.
• Partner with business leaders, project managers, subject matter experts, and external providers to develop and implement solutions.
• Monitor budgets, performance trends, quality, productivity, profitability, and partner compliance.

Requirements

• College degree preferred, plus 5–7 years of progressively responsible management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and apply change management principles in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external partners across levels and geographic markets.
• Strong customer service orientation and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ability to travel approximately 20%.
