What you will do

• Lead the transition from a broadcast-focused newsroom to a multi-platform digital newsroom through daily content production and training.
• Develop station content strategy and pitch local and trending stories during morning meetings.
• Research, verify, write, edit, and produce news reports for television, websites, and social media.
• Shoot and edit content for on-air and digital platforms while maintaining journalistic integrity and production quality.
• Build digital campaigns and use social media and the website to strengthen brand recognition and engage viewers.
• Determine story emphasis, length, format, and organization based on editorial requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in journalism.
• Daily newspaper or news site experience.
• Knowledge of Associated Press style and editorial standards.
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and basic HTML is preferred.
• Ability to work cooperatively across departments, respond positively to feedback, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Nice to have

• Live, working web samples and/or print pages.
• CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills.
