Mechanical R&D Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Tainan, Taiwan. Onsite role with up to 10% travel. Relocation is not available.

What you will do

• Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests and reports.
• Develop and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Lead or execute engineering projects, develop suppliers, and create mechanical product specifications.
• Design custom tooling, fixturing, and processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components and assemblies.
• Communicate complex technical information and build consensus across stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with CAD, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, or Design for Excellence principles.
• Experience with 2D/3D mechanical modeling and precision machine design.
• Working knowledge of machining, manufacturing, and assembly.
• Ability to work onsite in Tainan, Taiwan and travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the hirify.global product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience designing single- or multi-axis mechatronic systems, including servo-controlled actuators, positioning stages, or robotic systems.
• Experience with FEA, structural and thermal analysis, model analysis, and design optimization.
• Knowledge of vibration control, servo control, contamination control, and cleanliness control in semiconductor environments.
