Mechanical System Design Engineer (Piping)

Location: Taipei, Taipei City, Taiwan; full-time role with travel to project sites as required.

What you will do

• Design mechanical systems, including pipe materials, valve materials, special items, and piping insulation.
• Review mechanical systems for PFD and P&ID development and define pipe specifications, pressure ratings, and pressure test drawing information.
• Provide technical clarifications and approvals to vendors during requisition activities.
• Support project proposals, estimation, execution, commissioning, start-up, and on-site construction issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain design work processes, standards, procedures, and lessons-learned improvements.
• Coordinate with other engineering centers, functions, and disciplines while leading solutions for significant technical issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of mechanical systems engineering experience in gas, chemical, petrochemical, or underground pipeline projects at a design institute or engineering company.
• Experience designing ultra-pure-grade piping systems for the semiconductor industry, including BA and EP grade systems.
• Strong understanding of Taiwan and international piping and valve standards, design codes, and ASME B31.3.
• Ability to design, check, and approve engineering work and coordinate interfaces with other functions and disciplines.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• English written and oral communication skills are preferred.
