Senior Data Scientist (FinTech)

Location: Remote anywhere in the continental United States or from the corporate office in Utah

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of decision systems and predictive models.
• Explore internal and external data sources to improve model performance.
• Design and evaluate in-market experiments involving algorithms, technologies, and processes.
• Prototype solutions to ambiguous business problems using advanced technologies.
• Recommend strategic changes through rigorous analytics and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to code reviews, modeling standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, physics, or computer science.
• Deep experience with R, Python, machine learning tools, and SQL.
• Experience applying advanced models to real-world problems and delivering measurable business impact.
• Ability to design rigorous research and evaluation methods and own projects from problem definition through deployment.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical results to non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in engineering environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps and Git.
• Experience using and implementing agentic AI.
• Experience mentoring or leading technical projects.
