Senior Financial Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Finland, hybrid

International fintech company providing digital business payment solutions, including business accounts, multi-currency payments, and expense management for SMEs, startups, freelancers, and cross-border businesses.

What you will do

• Own day-to-day accounting for the Finnish legal entity and maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with Finnish requirements and local financial processes.
• Provide local accounting expertise and practical guidance to the CFO.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues independently, escalating matters when necessary.
• Coordinate local accounting activities with the wider international finance team.
• Review and improve accounting processes as the finance function grows.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant, or in a comparable role with independent accounting responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of Finnish accounting requirements and local financial processes.
• Ability to independently manage accounting for a Finnish legal entity.
• Based in Finland and fluent in Finnish.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Experience in fintech.
• Ownership, accountability, reliability, attention to detail, sound judgment, and proactive problem-solving skills.
