Power Generation Technician (AI Data Centers)

Location: Southaven, Mississippi, or Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite work at supercomputing data center facilities

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across data center facilities.
• Work with pumps, piping, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH units, generators, motors, UPS systems, switchgear, wiring, lighting, and water supply systems.
• Ensure site safety and environmental compliance with local and regional requirements.
• Write and execute maintenance, operating, and emergency procedures, including MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.
• Coordinate scheduled system shutdowns, manage spare parts inventory, and develop energy monitoring metrics.
• Support commissioning by witnessing equipment startups, assisting with functional testing, and monitoring construction progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or at least two years of hands-on facilities or operations experience in lieu of a degree; data center experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering principles, critical systems documentation, building and electrical power monitoring systems, and operations procedures.
• Experience with PLC-based control systems and/or building management systems, plus strong troubleshooting and technical writing skills.
• English proficiency is required for written and verbal technical communication.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use hand and power tools, work in tight quarters and at heights up to 100 feet, and work in heat, cold, rain, fumes, odors, and noise.
• Availability for flexible shifts providing 24x7 coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; willingness to travel up to 10% and a valid driver’s license are required.
