Principal Configuration Management Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead the configuration management pillar team within the Belfast engineering organisation.
• Plan and manage engineering change control, configuration identification and control, status accounting, verification, and audits.
• Coordinate configuration management and nomenclature activities for the A220 programme, securing stakeholder alignment and approvals.
• Manage team priorities, delivery risks, corrective actions, and preventative measures to protect aircraft delivery schedules.
• Compile and check wing-level and Tier 1 supplier deliverables while partnering with programme and manufacturing teams.
• Champion best practices, integrate tools such as SAP, and develop team members through knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng and at least 3 years of relevant engineering experience, or HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline and at least 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of technical and engineering change management across the full product lifecycle.
• Technical leadership skills, project management experience, and a record of delivering configuration management solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clarity and present to cross-functional audiences at multiple levels.
• Successful candidates are subject to BPSS and Export Control checks, including a criminal record check.

Nice to have

• Previous aerospace industry experience.
• Familiarity with Catia/Enovia, Optegra/PDM, MAXIM, CAPP, SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Project, Access, Planisware, or Opentext.
