TL;DR
Senior Manager, Civil Programs (Aerospace): Overseeing the acquisition, completion, maintenance, and delivery of specialized aircraft for commercial markets with an accent on program execution, customer management, budgets, schedules, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on Earned Value Management, aircraft configuration and delivery, critical supply-chain and quality issues, and leading complex civil aviation programs in an onsite manufacturing environment.
Location: Columbus, Mississippi, United States; 70–80% onsite when not traveling. Domestic and international travel of 20–30% is required.

Helicopters operates a helicopter manufacturing, assembly, and North American Center of Excellence in Columbus, producing military and civil aircraft.
What you will do
- Lead the end-to-end acquisition, completion, maintenance, and delivery of specialized aircraft for commercial customers.
- Manage a team of 6–8 program managers and coordinate cross-functional teams of up to 50 contributors across Engineering, Flight Test, Quality, and Procurement.
- Own project scope, schedules, budgets, contracts, customer relationships, and delivery commitments.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in MS Project or Smartsheet and track SPI and CPI performance.
- Coordinate aircraft configurations, production-line and post-production installations, master scheduling, and customer deliveries.
- Lead product improvements, new product development, entry-into-service activities, and critical supply-chain or quality projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Program Management, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of project management experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
- Must be a US Person under ITAR requirements: a US citizen, green card holder, or person covered by an existing ITAR license.
- Ability to work onsite in Columbus, Mississippi for most non-traveling workdays.
- Ability to travel independently and at short notice, including domestic and international travel.
- Ability to work in office and production-floor environments and use required personal protective equipment.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft completion, maintenance, or repair.
- Financial budgeting experience and the ability to interpret technical data packages.
- Project or program management certification.
