French-English Translator

What you will do

• Translate materials between English and French while preserving meaning, tone, style, and intent.
• Review, proofread, and edit content for grammar, terminology, accuracy, consistency, and readability.
• Localize marketing, corporate, training, presentation, product-related, digital, and internal communications for French-speaking Canadian audiences.
• Maintain translation glossaries, terminology databases, style guides, brand voice, and language resources.
• Collaborate with Marketing and other internal departments to clarify terminology and translation requirements.
• Manage multiple translation requests and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and supporting pre-publication quality assurance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, Languages, or a related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of professional translation, localization, proofreading, or related bilingual communications experience preferred.
• Native or near-native French proficiency and excellent professional English proficiency are required.
• Professional experience translating between English and French, with strong Canadian French terminology and cultural knowledge.
• Excellent writing, grammar, spelling, proofreading, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, use standard business applications, and handle multiple deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience translating marketing, corporate, consumer-facing, or digital content.
• Experience in a corporate environment or supporting multiple internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with translation software, terminology databases, and translation memory tools.
