Globalization Tech Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bellevue, Washington; Chicago, Illinois; or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Annual base salary: $132,000–$181,500 USD or $114,000–$157,300 CAD, depending on location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and own localization automation workflows using Python, APIs, agentic workflows, and Translation Management Systems.
• Research and implement AI/LLM-based localization solutions, custom machine translation pipelines, quality estimation, and advanced TMS capabilities.
• Diagnose architectural failures, integration issues, file-parsing conflicts, and system-wide bottlenecks affecting the localization pipeline.
• Advise product and engineering teams on internationalization, conduct code-level i18n audits, and define localization best practices.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize TMS platforms such as XTM and Smartling.
• Build self-service pseudo-localization and i18n auditing tools to detect truncation, hard-coded strings, and concatenation issues early.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in software or globalization engineering, including localization solutions at scale.
• Expert proficiency in Python and API-based automation and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AI in localization workflows, including custom MT pipelines, quality estimation, or LLM prompt engineering.
• Deep knowledge of TMS architecture, content parsing, and formats such as JSON, XML, XLIFF, and properties.
• Experience with enterprise CMS or MSM platforms, such as Adobe Experience Manager.
• Ability to perform code-level internationalization reviews and independently resolve complex technical issues.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with workflow performance analysis and reporting.
