Senior Underwriter, Inland Marine - Specialty Lines

Location: TX-Houston; primarily office-based

Base salary: $75,000–$93,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.

What you will do

• Underwrite Inland Marine products, issue quotes and policies, and manage large and complex accounts.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions in line with underwriting guidelines and authority levels.
• Conduct strategic account reviews and prepare related underwriting documentation.
• Build and develop relationships with brokers, clients, distribution partners, territory managers, and product leaders.
• Support business development, strategic initiatives, technical underwriting, marketing projects, and complex deal structuring.
• Represent hirify.global at client and broker functions and contribute to the development of less experienced staff.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Understanding of Inland Marine Insurance and related risks, including loss trends, loss triangles, and ratemaking.
• Experience or knowledge focused on transportation and logistics risks.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to make decisions within assigned authority, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Commercial insurance company, agency, brokerage, or Inland Marine experience is preferred.
