Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter (Insurance)

Salary: $85,000–$115,000 annual

What you will do

• Evaluate commercial Property & Casualty underwriting information and determine risk acceptability according to company guidelines.
• Underwrite a moderate book of business involving moderate to complex risk profiles.
• Make underwriting decisions and communicate or negotiate pricing and coverage outcomes with carriers.
• Market new and renewal accounts and respond promptly to inquiries and requests.
• Document underwriting decisions in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Provide responsive customer service and perform related underwriting duties.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher and 5 years of relevant commercial Property & Casualty underwriting experience; 7 years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Strong commercial lines insurance underwriting background.
• Ability to react and respond quickly and professionally.
• Creative, analytical, and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Excess and Surplus Lines experience.
• Bilingual English/Mandarin communication skills.
