Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager (Healthcare)

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States; commercial construction project-site work.

Base salary: $77,000–$110,000 per year, with compensation varying by location, experience, qualifications, education, skills, and training.

What you will do

• Coordinate project information, authorizations, budgets, schedules, milestones, logistics, and monthly owner reporting.
• Maintain project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, photographs, as-built conditions, and shutdown logs.
• Prepare pre-construction RFP packages and manage RFIs, submittals, pay applications, subcontractor change orders, and closeout activities.
• Support healthcare quality and safety requirements, including infection-control barriers, interim life-safety measures, egress, healthcare codes, medical gas standards, and facility protocols.
• Develop and track method-of-procedure plans for utility shutdowns, tie-ins, energization, approvals, notifications, contingencies, and post-work verification.
• Collaborate with superintendents, site operations, design teams, facility representatives, authorities having jurisdiction, inspectors, subcontractors, and clinical stakeholders.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred, though additional experience may substitute.
• 2–5 years of commercial construction experience, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Previous commercial job-site experience strongly preferred; healthcare or occupied-space construction experience is a plus.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ProCore, Adobe, Bluebeam, and JD Edwards.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, data interpretation, relationship-building, collaboration, integrity, and adaptability skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare construction experience.
• Experience with occupied healthcare environments and specialty trades such as medical gas, controls, nurse call, and low-voltage systems.
• Four-year degree from an accredited university.
