New Jersey Regional Director, Facilities Management & Operations

Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA; travel between campuses is required, including availability for emergencies as needed.

Salary: $127,800–$159,700 per year. Typical starting compensation for fully qualified new hires is $135,700.

What you will do

• Lead maintenance and preventive maintenance programs across the New Jersey regional building portfolio.
• Oversee fire and life-safety systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting controls, security systems, elevators, and other building operations.
• Manage work-ticket systems, emergency responses, inspections, compliance documentation, and communication with school operations staff.
• Develop and monitor regional maintenance and operating budgets, purchase orders, invoices, procurement processes, and vendor contracts.
• Plan and prioritize capital projects in partnership with Real Estate, Facilities, and school operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, architecture, construction, construction project management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, OSHA, and life-safety codes.
• Computer skills including Building Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, strategic thinking, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Personal vehicle required for travel between campuses.
• Must be able to pass a criminal record history check from the Department of Education.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in architecture, planning, or a related field.
• New Jersey low-pressure black seal boiler, HVAC, or other relevant certifications, training, or licenses.
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and financial forecasting.
