Medical Assistant – Spravato Monitoring (Spravato/esketamine treatment): Monitoring patients throughout Spravato treatment sessions at three New York City clinics with an accent on vital-sign tracking, patient safety, and REMS compliance. Focus on observing post-dose effects, documenting clinical events, escalating adverse reactions, and supporting patients through discharge.

Location: New York, NY; on-site across three New York City clinic locations

hirify.global provides clinical mental health treatment, including Spravato (esketamine) therapy.

What you will do

  • Observe patients during Spravato self-administration and the required post-dose monitoring period of at least two hours.
  • Measure and document blood pressure, pulse oximetry, sedation, dissociation, respiratory status, and other clinically relevant observations.
  • Escalate elevated blood pressure, low oxygen saturation, and adverse events to the supervising provider.
  • Document vitals and events in the EMR while following REMS and controlled-substance procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, support patients experiencing anxiety or dissociation, and assist with check-in, check-out, scheduling, and care coordination.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment, confirm safe transportation arrangements, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Hands-on experience monitoring patients receiving Spravato, including REMS documentation.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain it before starting.
  • Proficiency with manual and automated blood pressure measurement and pulse oximetry.
  • Availability after 4:00 PM on at least three weekdays, availability for some weekend shifts, and ability to commute between three New York City locations.
  • Strong attention to detail, accurate documentation, a calm and compassionate patient manner, and familiarity with EMR systems.

Nice to have

  • CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
  • At least one year of clinical experience, ideally in psychiatry, behavioral health, or infusion settings.
