Medical Assistant (Healthcare)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; onsite at a client health center. Part-time schedule of 24 hours per week, ideally Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The position is scheduled to start in March 2027.

What you will do

• Interview patients and measure vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.
• Prepare treatment rooms and clean and sterilize instruments.
• Administer medications and injections, perform laboratory tests, operate EKGs, and use other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.
• Support front-desk operations, schedule appointments, make follow-up calls, and order medical supplies.

Requirements

• National Medical Assisting certification from an approved organization, or a certificate/diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a completed hands-on externship; fully online courses are not accepted.
• Current hands-on Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers through AHA, ARC, or an equivalent provider.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• State Lab Certificate is required for positions in Nevada.
• CMA certification from an approved recognized certifying body is required for positions in South Carolina.
