Research Engineer II (RF/Materials)

Location: On-site at the Morris Plains, New Jersey office

Salary: $86,080–$129,120 annual base pay, plus a target annual performance incentive equal to 10% of base pay.

What you will do

• Scope experiments, assess feasibility, and recommend next steps for innovation projects.
• Design and execute hands-on experiments, material trials, wet chemistry formulations, and laboratory testing.
• Evaluate and characterize the physical, chemical, electronic, and functional properties of materials.
• Set up, configure, operate, calibrate, and maintain advanced analytical laboratory instrumentation.
• Analyze complex data, document results, and present findings and actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Support experimental design, invention disclosures, patent filings, product development, and business improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering with an Electronics or Electrical Engineering minor and 5+ years of experience, or a relevant master’s degree with no experience required.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or other PCB design software.
• Exposure to RF engineering and antenna design, including knowledge of NFC, UHF RFID, BLE, and Wi-Fi systems.
• Experience operating, calibrating, and maintaining advanced analytical laboratory instrumentation.
• Ability to work on-site at the Morris Plains, New Jersey office.

Nice to have

• Hands-on laboratory R&D experience with bench-scale experiments, material trials, and chemical formulations.
• Experience with CAD/CAM, 3D printing, or prototyping.
