Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office.

Salary: $88,000–$121,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design, analyze, and test spacecraft power systems covering power generation, energy storage, distribution, and DC-DC conversion for harsh environments.
  • Develop electrical power system and subsystem requirements and perform architecture and design trade studies.
  • Conduct electrical power system verification testing and analysis, including integrated hardware and software verification.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and production engineers to create new power electronics hardware.
  • Lead schematic capture, component selection, prototyping, bring-up, design documentation, manufacturing planning, and production testing.
  • Manage technical risk and change while supporting new technology introduction across spacecraft programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status or the ability to obtain required export authorizations is required to access ITAR- and EAR-controlled data.
  • At least 1 year of spacecraft electronics experience.
  • Experience with spacecraft power systems and spacecraft design, launch, and operation across the development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience in integrated software/hardware verification and testing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical decisions and conclusions to multiple audiences.
