Technical Project Manager (IT Modernization)

Location: Hybrid in Washington, DC; the federal client requires US citizenship and Public Trust clearance.

Salary: $112,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Define strategic roadmaps, prioritize IT initiatives, and support resource planning with federal leadership.
• Direct complex ERO special projects from inception through deployment, including technical requirements, enterprise risk, change management, and cybersecurity compliance.
• Step into operational project leadership for the 287(g) support team, resolving bottlenecks and maintaining process continuity during high-volume periods.
• Prepare status reports, executive dashboards, strategic roadmaps, and actionable assessments for senior leadership.
• Lead stakeholder meetings, drive action items to completion, and maintain transparency and institutional knowledge during project transitions.

Requirements

• US citizenship and Public Trust clearance are required for the federal client.
• 10+ years of experience managing enterprise IT projects, including IT modernization, cloud initiatives, or technology refresh programs.
• Experience managing both strategic technology projects and detailed operational support workflows.
• Knowledge of change management, risk management, and cybersecurity compliance in a federal or DHS context.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analytical, communication, and executive reporting skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or an IT-related field, or equivalent technical certifications or relevant experience.

Nice to have

• PMP certification or an equivalent high-level certification.
• Experience with SAFe or a similar enterprise-scale framework.
• Recent or active DHS/ICE experience.
