Competence Engineer Drive Laser

Location: Veldhoven, The Netherlands. Onsite work in a two-shift environment: early shift 06:30–15:30 and late shift 15:00–00:00, including one weekend per month. Occasional international travel may be required.

Salary: €55,000–€65,000 fixed annual salary, including holiday allowance and a 13th-month payment. Profit sharing and a shift allowance are provided in addition.

What you will do

• Resolve complex drive laser disturbances and lead technical problem-solving activities.
• Manage technical escalations and implement structural solutions to prevent recurring issues.
• Qualify drive lasers after module replacements and verify performance against specifications.
• Review technical solutions, action plans, and work procedures for quality and manufacturability.
• Assess technical risks and support the introduction of new products, technologies, and processes.
• Act as the manufacturing subject matter expert and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, process engineering, development, and field support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or Automotive Engineering; an MBO background is also considered with significant relevant hands-on experience.
• Experience with complex technical systems in high-tech manufacturing, testing, integration, or service environments.
• Experience in commissioning, qualification, troubleshooting, or performance optimization is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, root-cause problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to make technical decisions under pressure and uncertainty while maintaining quality and process discipline.
• Must work onsite in Veldhoven, The Netherlands, in a two-shift schedule and meet applicable immigration requirements for work in the Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Significant hands-on troubleshooting and qualification experience with an MBO background.
• Experience supporting new product, technology, or process introductions.
