Senior Software Engineer (Python/Golang/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy production infrastructure for Astro, Observe, and IDE products.
• Own software delivery practices in a high-scale PaaS environment, including build systems, testing, CI/CD, and automation.
• Shape production system architecture, technology standards, and platform decisions across the company.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, operational excellence, and incident-management practices.
• Coordinate delivery with stakeholders, estimate work, manage risks, and participate in periodic on-call rotations.
• Create and maintain comprehensive internal documentation for systems and processes.

Requirements

• Strong experience in non-abstract systems design and implementation.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Golang, with in-depth Kubernetes experience at CKA level or equivalent.
• Experience with observability principles and technologies, including SLI/SLO definition and tracking.
• Experience building SaaS or PaaS products across multiple cloud providers, especially AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Experience with software development practices including code review, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation, and debugging.
• Strong communication, ownership, estimation, stakeholder coordination, and operational problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CircleCI, Chronosphere, Prometheus, Splunk, Bazel, Istio, Playwright, Karpenter, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.
