Principal Platform Engineer (AWS/OpenTofu)

Location: London, United Kingdom; must commute 2–3 days per week

Salary: GBP 95,200–142,800 per year

What you will do

• Enhance and maintain Infrastructure as Code repositories supporting cloud resource management.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate engineering workflows.
• Build and improve observability tools that help engineers discover and resolve issues.
• Identify developer productivity gaps and design pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineering groups and provide technical mentorship.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
• Professional experience with Infrastructure as Code, OpenTofu, EKS, and Helm.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed production systems, including performance, scalability, and reliability trade-offs.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, as well as databases, APIs, and modern DevOps practices.
• Track record of working through ambiguity and adapting solutions as requirements evolve.
• Willingness to commute to the London location 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience designing internal developer platforms, golden paths, or developer experience products.
• Python development experience.
• Experience deploying production GitOps platforms managing multiple applications.
• Familiarity with Governance, Risk, and Compliance engineering.
• Experience building infrastructure for agentic AI coding workflows.
