What you will do

• Perform hypervelocity impact analyses for spacecraft missions.
• Support spacecraft shielding design, modelling, vulnerability analysis, and risk assessments.
• Develop, validate, and apply next-generation micrometeoroid and orbital debris methodologies.
• Contribute to the evolution of DarKnight 2.0 and to internal and external research and development programmes.
• Support ESA studies, customer projects, standardisation activities, proposals, and technical discussions with customers and agencies.
• Participate in scientific conferences, workshops, and the broader space debris community.

Requirements

• Completed degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable field.
• Required scientific programming skills; Python is the preferred language.
• Interest in spacecraft environment engineering and related disciplines.
• Ability to work independently across a wide range of technical topics.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• High proficiency in English is required as a spoken and written working language.

• Knowledge of space debris modelling.
