Principal Engineer - Integration Services

Location: London, United Kingdom; 50% hybrid working with an average of two to three days onsite

What you will do

• Establish and lead the Integration Services capability across Internal Products.
• Define technical direction, standards, reusable patterns, ownership models, and roadmaps for enterprise integration.
• Build shared integration services and engineering capabilities across multiple platforms, teams, and domains.
• Provide senior technical leadership for transformation programmes, including the Commercial Technology Programme.
• Lead, recruit, coach, and develop engineers while establishing a sustainable operating model.
• Own delivery, reliability, observability, incident management, vendor relationships, and operational performance.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Principal Engineer, senior engineering leader, or in a comparable technical leadership role.
• Strong experience designing, building, and operating enterprise integration capabilities at scale.
• Deep understanding of integration architecture, APIs, event-driven systems, messaging, data flows, and distributed systems.
• Experience building reusable engineering services or shared platform capabilities across multiple teams and organisational boundaries.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and modern engineering practices, preferably AWS.
• Experience with reliability, observability, security, operational excellence, transformation programmes, and senior stakeholder influence.

Nice to have

• Experience with quality engineering, test automation, CI/CD, and engineering productivity practices.
• Experience establishing new teams, capabilities, or operating models.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS ecosystems, implementation partners, and technology procurement.
