Systems Engineer (Space)

Location: Hybrid positions in Barcelona, Spain; Athens, Greece; Porto, Portugal; or Coimbra, Portugal. Legal right to work in the chosen location is required.

What you will do

• Support spacecraft system design, integration, verification, and validation across multiple missions.
• Contribute to system architecture, interface management, requirements traceability, and system-level analysis.
• Apply MBSE methodologies and maintain system models, technical documentation, and engineering artefacts.
• Support FMECA activities and contribute to Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with power, AOCS, communications, propulsion, thermal, and mechanical subsystem teams.
• Support assembly, integration, and testing, including functional and environmental testing, supplier activities, design reviews, and mission documentation.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles in satellite or complex multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system-level design concepts.
• Experience or familiarity with requirements management, verification, validation, and interface control.
• Awareness of MBSE methodologies and tools such as Capella, MagicDraw, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of FMECA, FDIR, CONOPS, system budgets, and mission-level analysis.
• Strong communication, collaboration, structured problem-solving, and attention to detail.
