TL;DR
Commercial/Contracts Manager (Defence and Security): Managing contractual and commercial support for bids and contracts across the UK and EMEA with an accent on UK MoD terms, public procurement, customer negotiations, and contractual risk. Focus on reviewing and negotiating agreements, developing commercial bid responses, flowing down contractual obligations to subcontractors, and mitigating liabilities and disputes.
Location: Burgess Hill, United Kingdom; hybrid working model with office and remote work. Travel to and customer sites in the UK and overseas may be required at short notice.

What you will do
- Provide contractual and commercial support for bids and contract management across the UK and EMEA Defence and Security business.
- Act as the customer focal point for contractual matters and maintain effective commercial communication.
- Review, prepare, negotiate, and obtain approval for NDAs, teaming agreements, contracts, amendments, and related documents with legal counsel.
- Develop commercial responses to customer RFPs and support proposal documentation, risk and opportunity registers, and compliance matrices.
- Support negotiation strategies, customer negotiations, subcontract negotiations, and the flow-down of contractual terms.
- Identify contractual liabilities, risks, issues, and disputes, maintain records, and develop mitigation plans with legal counsel.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in a commercial, marketing, or business-related field.
- Extensive knowledge of contract law, UK Ministry of Defence terms and conditions, DEFCONs, and public procurement.
- Strong business acumen, negotiation, communication, presentation, organisation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure as part of bid and project teams and meet deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Project.
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of data protection legislation.
- Current NATO SC security clearance transferable to the UK.
