Workshop Technician (Test & Assembly)

Location: Ashington, United Kingdom; workshop-based role with required onshore, offshore, and overseas travel when needed

Salary: £33,500 per annum

What you will do

• Assemble, test, repair, and maintain specialist subsea equipment according to company procedures and quality standards.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical and hydraulic systems, including fault finding and testing.
• Complete maintenance records, test documentation, and technical reports.
• Support equipment mobilisation and demobilisation for customer projects.
• Participate in toolbox talks, maintain a safe and organised workshop, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Travel onshore, offshore, and overseas to support equipment installation, operation, and customer projects.

Requirements

• Experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, or maintenance within engineering, manufacturing, offshore, oil and gas, defence, automotive, or a similar environment.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Flexibility to travel and support offshore operations when required.

Nice to have

• Hydraulic torqueing experience.
• Knowledge of pneumatic or electrical systems.
• Previous offshore experience or relevant certifications.
