Machine Shop Operator (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, and operate manual and automated honing and lapping equipment.
• Perform first-off inspections and complete quality documentation.
• Measure finished parts using air gauges, bore micrometers, roundness checking machines, and surface finish comparators.
• Set up and use machine tools to produce components to exceptionally close aerospace tolerances.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Requirements

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
• More than 5 years of experience operating manual honing and lapping equipment.
• Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally aerospace.
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and relevant inspection equipment.
• Experience achieving drawing tolerances through high-accuracy measurement and inspection techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement.
