What you will do
- Own a scoped engineering project from design through production with mentor support.
- Ship production features used by millions of members worldwide.
- Use coding agents as part of the development process and review, test, and verify their output.
- Build reusable AI skills, tools, or agent workflows for the engineering team.
- Write evaluations and tests to measure the quality of AI-powered work.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, design patterns, data structures, APIs, and testing.
- Projects built outside class, such as side projects, hackathons, open source, or freelance work.
- Practical experience applying AI through LLM applications, agents, MCP servers, automation, or model and prompt evaluations.
- Curiosity, skepticism, fast learning, and the ability to investigate and verify AI-generated answers.
- Experience with or willingness to work with TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes, GitLab, Datadog, Claude Code, and MCP.
Nice to have
- Agents that use tools, maintain memory, or run multi-step workflows.
- AI evaluations or tests measuring improvements in output quality.
- Projects shipped to real users.
- Deployment experience on a cloud platform.
