Propulsion Thermal Management 3D CFD Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, with reporting to the Global HQ at least three times per week. The role may be eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Develop innovative 3D CFD simulations for electrified propulsion components.
• Build complex multiphase flow and thermal simulations for engines, transmissions, electric motors, drive units, battery cells, and related processes.
• Apply simulation capabilities to influence product design, improve processes, and eliminate hardware testing.
• Provide component-level and system-level design recommendations based on analysis results.
• Present analysis findings to engineering peers, management, and product design teams.
• Benchmark new procedures, technologies, and software tools, and contribute to automation tools using Python or Java.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with simulation, design, testing, or release of propulsion-related systems.
• At least 2 years of experience with CFD analysis of propulsion-related systems.
• Familiarity or practical experience with vehicle propulsion system design, operation, or testing.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Warren, Michigan and report to the Global HQ at least three times per week.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with coursework in heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with STAR-CCM+, Simerics-MP+, CFD optimization tools, or test-to-model correlation.
• Programming experience in Python, Java, or equivalent languages.
• Linux experience in distributed computing environments and knowledge of CFD visualization techniques.
• Experience with Siemens NX CAD modeling.
