Computational Simulation Engineer III (Vehicle Handling)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States. Hybrid schedule with 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote; candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance. Up to 10% international and domestic travel annually. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $132,579 annual salary.

What you will do

• Lead the complete vehicle model-building process using multibody dynamic models and finite element elastic bodies.
• Perform vehicle handling, electronic stability control, and braking simulations.
• Define physics models and load cases, solve analyses, and recommend design solutions before physical validation.
• Present simulation results and analysis-based recommendations to technical and management audiences.
• Build vehicle models with design, digital mock-up, test, and simulation teams; provide load collectives and correlate simulation results with testing.
• Serve as a vehicle-handling subject-matter expert, mentor junior members, and help prioritize team work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in a related occupation.
• Experience conducting multibody simulations with SIMPACK or ADAMS and finite element modeling with NASTRAN.
• Experience with time-series and frequency-domain analysis, 3D CAD, technical presentations with PowerPoint, Python, Java, and MATLAB.
• Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States; visa sponsorship and applications from existing visa holders are not accepted.
• Must be able to work a hybrid schedule from the Portland office and travel up to 10% annually.
