Senior Software Engineer (PHP)

Location: Krakow, Poland; hybrid work

Salary: 125–209 PLN/hour + VAT on B2B contract, or 17,500–29,200 PLN gross for permanent employment.

Technology partner supporting a vacation-rental management platform used by hosts managing more than 100,000 properties across 120+ countries.

What you will do

• Plan and execute quarterly or multi-quarter engineering projects, defining milestones and managing dependencies and scope.
• Work with business stakeholders to refine product direction and deliver improvements that increase host and guest satisfaction.
• Develop customer engagement products such as guest communication solutions, guest guides, and online check-in management.
• Propose technical initiatives that improve engineering velocity and software quality, and mentor colleagues.
• Improve the use of AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows.
• Help transform the platform into a cloud-native, service-oriented architecture.

Requirements

• Solid backend development experience with PHP and Symfony.
• Expertise with relational and non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
• Experience designing and working with event-driven, asynchronous, and integration-heavy systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development, including agentic coding tools and workflows.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, business curiosity, and the ability to work in a distributed multinational team. Excellent English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with layered architectures, CQRS, and Domain-Driven Design.
• Full-stack engineering experience, including infrastructure and frontend development.
