Senior Backend Developer (Java)

Location: Poland; hybrid working model based in central Warsaw

Salary: 21,000–25,000 PLN net + VAT per month on a B2B contract

What you will do

• Design and implement backend services and RESTful APIs using modern Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
• Build distributed, cloud-native applications based on microservice architectures.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation in collaboration with Platform Engineering.
• Own services end to end, including monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, production operations, and incident response.
• Apply observability and secure development practices, including metrics, distributed tracing, APM, OWASP Top 10, dependency management, and secrets management.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Security, Product, and Agile teams while reviewing code and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on Java backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of Java 21+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with distributed cloud-native applications, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one modern CI/CD tool.
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, observability tooling, production operations, and incident response.
• Strong analytical thinking and technical decision-making in complex distributed systems.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.

Nice to have

• German language skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• CPaaS, cloud communications, telecom protocols, or frameworks such as FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or Asterisk.
• Experience with highly available, low-latency systems and event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
